Job Context
Deputy Coordinator Outreach and Communication, to be recruited for PACTA (Participatory Action against Corruption: Towards Transparency and Accountability) – the core project of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), provisionally for the period up to December 2026, will be an important member of the O&C division of TIB head by Director O&C.
Responsibilities
Deputy Coordinator Outreach and Communication, to be recruited for PACTA (Participatory Action against Corruption: Towards Transparency and Accountability) – the core project of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), provisionally for the period up to December 2026, will be an important member of the O&C division of TIB head by Director O&C.Reportable to the Coordinator (O&C), Deputy Coordinator O&C will be responsible for smooth implementation of internal and external activities of communication and outreach with the following specific tasks:
1. Improve the quality and content of TIB’s media and communications work, including press statements, strengthening cooperation with Media, increasing the number of interviews, raising TIB’s profile in the national and international media, and publicizing TIB’s research, including policy papers and reports;
2. Work with colleagues of Outreach and Communication Division to identify media opportunities and implement campaigns around key topical issues related to the mandate of TIB and implementation of the project;
3. Develop and maintain contacts with government officials, NGOs, journalists and other stakeholders; Design and maintain an outreach database to remain in contact with key audiences;
4. Measure and report on the effectiveness of outreach and communications activities, engagement, and progress;
Content development and management:
1. Supervise and draft, edit, and/or produce communication materials, including newsletters, press releases, fact sheets, blog posts, briefers, social media content, toolkits, etc.;
2. Assist in developing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for donors, government and other stakeholders;
3. Manage and support creation of all print and electronic materials, including:
- Monthly e-newsletter for an external audience of members, partners, and supporters, Report templates, infographics, and other visual representations of TIB’s work;
- Event announcements, invitations, programmes, and signage;
4. Lead the generation of online content (creation and curation) that ensures TIB’s online presence is mission-driven, dynamic relevant and user-friendly;
Manage outreach and communication:
1. Coordinate and management of all communications within given timelines, assigning roles, facilitating meetings, and liaising with external stakeholders as needed;
2. Supervise and implement various outreach and communication programmes such as youth engagement activities which include debates, Moot Courts and cartoon competitions, press conferences, roundtable discussions, seminars, Investigative Journalism Awards and training;
3. Propose and implement TIB’s outreach activities such as roundtables, panel discussions, and joint events with partners and stakeholders;
Media relations and public information:
1. Keep close relations with the media and handle media inquiries;
2. Develop and maintain media contacts and lists; Monitor daily news utilizing media monitoring services.
3. Draft and distribute media advisories, news releases and other materials and design and organize media events, as appropriate, to promote activities of TIB;
4. Plan, support and implement activities targeted at increasing the capacity of the media to report on governance, corruption, and corruption investigation techniques, including workshops, fellowships and other programmes;
5. Facilitate access and collaboration for journalists and corruption research experts;
6. Provide effective and timely responses to public information inquiries;
Team management
1. Manage and oversee the day-to-day progress of the designated work of Outreach and Communication division;
2. Manage staff, conduct performance evaluations, and develop work plans;
3. Support the preparation of annual work plans, budget, tracking expenses, analysis and monitoring works;
4. Provide support to administrative and logistical activities of the division; and
5. Perform any other task(s) assigned by the authority.
Special Instruction
Academic Qualification
• Masters in Mass Communication & Journalism, Development Studies, English, International Relations. Law, Public Adminstration or any other relevant discipline from a recognized university with minimum second Class/Division or equivalent CGPA in all academic examinations.• Candidates with a third division or a GPA below 2 in SSC/HSC or a CGPA below 2.5 as applicable, are not considered to meet the necessary requirements.
• Candidates with any kind of academic or professional experience/training on good governance and Anti-Corruption will have an advantage.

• Ability to understand issues of communication and outreach on governance and anti-corruption work, especially economic, social, business, environmental, technological and related sectors of public interest and translate them into understandable and creative narratives;• The ability to build compelling stories and deliver them in various user-friendly formats. Proficient in use of multiple social media platforms;
• Working knowledge and skills in digital content generation tools and software;
• Strong editorial skills in content design and implementation. Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Bangla;
• •Ability to manage multiple communication activities simultaneously whilst simultaneously dealing with ambiguity, adversity and real-time adjustments and changes;
• •Ability to plan, prioritise, coordinate, delegate work effectively, work to strict deadlines, manage budgets and resources, and implement organisational policies;
• •Ability to work effectively, build relationships, and gain respect from diverse groups, including public sector, business, media, civil society and other stakeholders;
• •Liberal thinking, flexibility and the capacity to respect other people's points of view, and understand and integrate multiple perspectives accordingly; and
• •Excellent team spirit with a passion for managing teams composed of people from different cultures, fields and ethnic backgrounds.
